Chess Club

 The Chess Club provides an opportunity for members of Dorchester & District U3A to enjoy a game of chess and improve their game skills. A session usually starts with a chess puzzle for all to discuss and solve. Sometimes simple, sometimes not so simple but it certainly stimulates discussion.

New members are welcome but they should know the moves and basic tactics of chess. Starter books are available if required and we expect to be able to demonstrate a computer based chess game and tuition package later this summer.

Many of us learned to play at school and have only played since when teaching following generations of youngsters. Here is an opportunity to enjoy the game again in a friendly and not too competitive environment.

We meet twice a month as scheduled in the timetable.
